The particular chromatic effects of this vase are obtained with a hot coloring practiced in Murano since the 1930s called a Macie.
The procedure is as follows. Glass flakes in various colors are placed on the “bronzìn”, a perfectly smooth metal plate so called because it was originally made of bronze. The “master” takes from the “lever” oven with a blow pipe the quantity of glass needed to blow the object and with this glass the glass splinters are collected on the “bronzìn” which melt and stick to the hot surface.
The bottom of the vase is deliberately “imperfect” with the prop, an unequivocal sign that the object was opened by hand.
The work is supplied signed and with our certificate of origin and guarantee.
Due to its handcrafted nature, each piece is one of a kind and minor variations in colors and sizes are to be expected.
